“Unmissable!  The sense of awe and wonder generated is fabulous!  The pupils say it’s the best thing they’ve experienced at school – EVER”! [I’ve been taking the dome to Oldway every year for 10 years now!]

Zoe Milligan (Y5), Oldway Primary School, Devon

“The best resource we’ve ever come across – it really brings science teaching to life!  It was excellent value for money.  We were amazed at just how much it exceeded our expectations!”

Victoria Bunn (Y5 & 6), Bishop Henderson C of E Primary School, Somerset

“An educational experience that is second to none.  The children were enthralled from start to finish.  We were completely blown away by the whole experience!  It was a fantastic way to enthuse and inspire the children.  It was everything we’d hoped for and more”

Gemma Wright / Sara Venner (Y1, 5 & 6), Decoy Primary School, Devon

About Space Odyssey mobile planetarium

Space Odyssey offers exciting learning opportunities in space science and biology inside its three different sizes of inflatable planetarium dome – where the school trip comes to you!

Sophisticated computer simulations and specially-formatted movies are projected throughout each dome to create a breathtakingly immersive and inspirational experience, for everyone from nursery-aged children to A-level students (and for families, youth groups and the public too!)

Crucially, each dome offers an incredibly effective learning environment in which children can grasp otherwise abstract concepts in an exciting and memorable way, providing a great springboard for masses of cross-curricular work, with the opportunity to ask questions to help further their understanding.

Every dome session is led by Simon Ould BSc (Hons), PGCE, MInstP, FRAS – an experienced science teacher and Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society.

Simon uses his wealth of teaching experience to carefully differentiate the content and delivery of every presentation to be appropriate to the particular group involved.  It is the unique combination of Simon’s teaching skills with cutting-edge technology which lies at the heart of Space Odyssey’s success.

Having an experienced teacher leading every session is a key reason why hundreds of schools throughout the South West have invited Simon to bring his Space Odyssey domes to their schools, in some cases more than a dozen times.  Simon established Space Odyssey in 2004 and has welcomed nearly 500,000 children and adults into his domes since then!

Sessions are available covering not only space-themed topics but also popular Darwin, Evolution & Inheritance shows, too.
