About Paignton Zoo Environmental Park
Paignton Zoo has been welcoming inquisitive minds since 1923. Spread over 80 acres, we’re not just a zoo, we’re also a botanical gardens and this has allowed us to create a landscape that’s great for exploring. There are over 2,000 animals that call Paignton Zoo home, as well as Clennon Gorge Nature Reserve that sits within the zoo and makes a fantastic location for getting back to nature.
Education has always been at the heart of what we do and our dedicated Education Centre sits right in the middle of our site. Curriculum linked workshops in our themed classrooms provide the ideal opportunity to ensure that your visit is so much more than a fun day out. Whatever the topic, we’re the perfect place to bring the broader curriculum to life. We’re not just a trip, we’re the trip!
